Bharatiya Janata Party leader P.K. Krishnadas on Monday said the United Democratic Front and the Left Democratic Front were engaged in a bid to save Transport Minister Thomas Chandy from the allegations of encroachment on public land.

Addressing the media here on Monday, he said the fronts were indulging in a fake battle as they had the same goals.

Mr. Krishnadas said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan should come clean on his stance in the wake of a report submitted by the Alappuzha Collector indicating the same. He wondered why the CPI(M) and Mr. Vijayan were not demanding the resignation of Mr. Chandy.

The BJP would organise a march to the house of Mr. Chandy on Tuesday.
