Activist Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday asked the government whether the names of industrialists he named as having accounts in HSBC Bank in Geneva were part of the list of 700 people handed over to the authorities by France.
Posing questions to Finance Minister P Chidambaram, he said the country wants to know from him why the government was “applying” different yardsticks while investigating the matter as only some people are raided while others are let off.
Mr Kejriwal had on Friday made fresh allegations that HSBC Bank was indulging in money laundering and claimed Ambani brothers, Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal and Congress MP Anu Tandon had parked black money in its Geneva branch.
All those who were named by Mr Kejriwal had denied the allegations.
He also alleged the government was saving HSBC.
“If US government can firmly deal with such banks, why can’t Indian governmen do the same?” he said.
The government dismissed the allegations made by Mr Kejriwal saying there was nothing new in the accusations and no evidence has been given to substantiate them.

h s b c bank is already under investigation in different countries, the confession statements of raided defaulters are very intriguing because the disclosures made by them about depositing money without visiting and getting money by just one call away is sinister design of foreign bank to loot indian of their wealth, save tax and enrich their bank at cost of indian poor, majority of indian businessmen, politicians are hand in glove, already hawala network is controled i s i and dawood henchmen, whole national security is already breached,it is shameful govt evading whole questions and escaping from any account,700 names should be disclosed and made public ,telling public what action are initiated by them,,otherwise govt has to go
I am of the view that our Mr. Chidambram must answer these simple questions posed by Mr. Kejriwal, more so because he was the first to defend Robert Vadra after Mr. Kejriwal's allegations on him, albeit the fact that defending Vadra was not a part of FM's Job. But these fresh set of statements are directly implicating Finance Minister's job. C'mon Mr. Chidambram kindly answer now.
Just by throwing mud on every politician What does Mr. Kejriwal wants to achieve? He himself says that IAC does not have any evidence to prove. The right thing for him to do was approach the Courts with enough evidence to book the culprits. Everybody agrees that all the parties are run by corrupt politicians. No body is pure. The other parties that are talking about corruption will become corrupt the moment they get into power. By sensationalising with weekly exposes Mr Kejriwal will destroy the fragile democracy in the country that only lead us into anarchy or dictatorship. God bless this country.
Let Krishna reborn to destroy the evil.
