Former Army Chief V K Singh on Thursday said there was a need for thorough probe into the allegations made by IAC activist Arvind Kejriwal with regard to corruption.
“Kejriwal is levelling allegations of corruption because there are evidences to support them,” Gen. Singh told reporters but refused to be part of IAC.
“Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan had not joined any party.
He had moved ahead alone to fight corruption and people rallied behind him which resulted in a people’s movement in 1974,” he said in reply to a question whether he was interested in joining any political party.
“I will tell you about my next step later,” the former Army Chief said, adding he would, however, support any campaign against corruption.
He said he was now working among farmers, youths and jawans to help create a ‘janjagran’ (peoples movement) against corruption.
Earlier, he held meeting with a delegation of ex-soldiers based in Buxar and appealed to them to join peoples movement against corruption.

from some of the previous comments and things i have been hearing off late, i dont understand why people dont think getting into politics is a good idea. people like gen. Singh, Anna etc should all get into politics with their strong ideas and patriotism..with the command they hold on general public they can really make wonders in our country...only then can we expect their motives being executed...staying out of it and mere conducting rallies etc would certainly catch up the heat and then slowly but surely it cools down...What Kejriwal has done is surely commendable...he needs support and guidance from more and more number of great patriot leaders like Gen.Singh so that corruption is totally washed out of our system...and only people with good morale and motives come to power..
Thanks Mr. V. K. Singh for continuing your service to the nation even after your retirement as Army Chief; earlier you had protected the nation from the terrorists and intruders, now people request you to turn your attention towards this putrefied Indian democracy infected with dynasty, nepotism and corruptions and a looters dominated political system in our land. We received your open call for dissolving the present Parliament headed by the corrupted-Congress; its deep meaning was read thoroughly. You have pointed clearly at the corrupted- political cockroaches nibbling people’s democracy and digesting our nations’ wealth and natural resources and need for cleaning the system. Please launch a Second Freedom Struggle to change India from British-free-nation to an Exploiters-free-country to save thousands of innocent poverty-stricken people. Your political camaraderie with Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal is fantastic.
It is the need of the hour that influential people come out in public
and support anti corruption movements. More so it is the responsibility
of every patriot Indian to check individual behavior against corruption
and have a high on morality character. Thats the only ways we are ever
gonna get out of the abyss of corruption.
Not only this UPA regime is highly corrupt and the worst regime of the 21st century but also promote their corrupt partners and failed leaders.
Gen V K Singh, Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal all continue to demand for independent investigation and transparency. Gen V K Singh should visit all states and rally with people against corruption.
Despite the flak Gen. Singh's comments have drawn in recent times, I think he is moving in the right direction. Instead of spending his retired life at home doing trifles he has come out in the open and voiced his concerns about corruption that is slowly eroding this country's capacity to emerge as a stronger nation. If someone as well-known and widely respected as Gen. Singh rallies behind the cause of anti-corruption, it will make thousands of people across the country better comprehend the gravity of the issue and encourage them to do something about that. I personally would not like him to join any political bandwagon since it will make it easier for the government to target him. He should instead remain a free-floating agent for change. This country has a plethora of political parties but that has not changed the reality for common people. Let him work as an ordinary citizen striving for the betterment of the society. We are with him.
