Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief M. Karunanidhi met his daughter Kanimozhi in the Tihar Central Jail here on Saturday, the day a special court here framed charges against her in the 2G spectrum allocation case.

Accompanied by his wife Rajathi Ammal and DMK MP T.R. Baalu, Mr. Karunanidhi reached the jail premises around 5.30 p.m.

“The meeting that took place at the jail Deputy Superintendent's office in Jail No.6 lasted half-an-hour,” said a jail official.

Kanimozhi, a 20 per cent stakeholder in the television channel Kalaignar TV, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in May this year after the agency found that the media channel had allegedly received Rs.200 crore from Dynamix Realty as bribe.

The former Telecom Minister, A. Raja, and Kalaignar TV Managing Director Sharad Kumar, who have also been made accused in the case, met the DMK chief during his visit to the jail.
