Youth’s presence of mind saves the day

In a rare case of display of honesty, a youth had returned a ‘mangalya’ chain, which he found on the road, to its rightful owner.

The incident took place on Wednesday in the town.

Mala, a resident of Karanjikatte locality in the town, on Wednesday lost her ‘mangalasutra’ when she went out for shopping. She dropped the effort when she could not trace the chain at all.

Tabarez, a mechanic working in a garage in Rajanagar area, found the ‘mangalya’ chain while returning home. Realising that some woman may have lost the chain, Mr. Tabarez decided to return it to the owner.

He spoke to some friends, who were residents of Karanjikatte and were aware about the incident of Mala losing the chain. They took Tabarez to Mala’s house and returned the chain to her. Happy over getting her ‘mangalya’ chain back, Mala expressed deep gratitude to Tabarez for his integrity.

At a time when the incidents of chain snatching are rising in Kolar and elsewhere, the return of the chain by the youth stands a glaring example of truthfulness.
