Even after getting his plaster removed, 55-year-old Chandrashekhar Lendi, a pharmacist, had severe pain in his left ankle which had developed hairline fracture in an accident.

However, thanks to the Union Government-sponsored Yoga and Naturopathy Unit at the Government District Hospital premises here, he is now better. The unit, which offers free of cost treatment, has been helping many patients get relief.

“The centre offers treatments for diseases such as asthma, diabetes, neurological disorders and so on by using various techniques and special equipments,” said R.M. Sajjan, the District Surgeon.

Asserting that no treatment has any side-effects, Dr. Sajjan said that, the patients, mainly those who have taken almost every treatment and found no remedy, are coming here. “Mainly those suffering from arthritis and spondylitis come here for treatment, many women,” he said.

The centre is open from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on weekdays.
