Former Chief Minister and BJP’s national Vice President, B.S. Yeddyurappa has accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of destroying the Congress party and giving more importance to the ‘migrated’ Congress leaders than the original Congress leaders.

“The Chief Minister says that he wants to make Karnataka a BJP-free State, but he is hell-bent on making Congress-free Karnataka with his partisan nature”, he told presspersons here on Sunday.

Claiming that there was a clear division within the Congress, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that there was one group which was 'migrated' to Congress with Mr. Siddaramaiah’ and the other is of original Congress leaders.

“In that, Mr. Siddaramaiah is giving importance only to his supporters and those Minister who are original Congressmen have been neglected by the Chief Minister”, Mr. Yeddyurappa said.

Stating that Water Resources Minister, M.B. Patil too had not been given adequate funds by the Chief Minister for the irrigation projects, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that the irrigation projects in the State were receiving beatings because of the dearth of funds.

On the distribution of free ration under 'Anna Bhagya' scheme, Mr. Yeddyurappa though welcomed the decision, however he tried to give credit to NDA Government for supplying ‘major quantity’ of rice and wheat to the State for the scheme.

“Of the 2.24 lakh tonnes rice the government distributes under the scheme, the Union government supplies 2.17 lakh tonnes to the State. The Union purchase the rice for Rs.28/kg sells the same to the State at Rs. 3/kg. Yet, Mr. Siddaramaiah claims as if his government is bearing entire expenses of giving rice for free”, he said.

Mr. Yeddyurappa accused the Chief Minister of not fulfilling several important promises including the establishment of Agriculture Price Commission to regulate the prices of agricultural commodities, not forming the Lake Development Authority to develop the lakes in the State and stopping of Suvarna Grama Scheme, launched by the previous BJP Government for the development of rural areas.

Former Minister and district president, S. B. Bellubbi, another former minister Govind Karjol, MLA, Ramesh Bhusnur, Former MLA, Appu Pattanshetty and other party leaders were present.
