Yadgir SP injured in road accident in Chitradurga

Superintendent of Police M.Muthuraya and five others travelling in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) suffered serious injuries when their vehicle collided with a oncoming truck near Arasikote village in Hiriyur taluk in Chitradurga district in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to reports, all the injured have been shifted to Mallya Hospital in Bengaluru and the condition of Mr. Muthuraya and four others is stable and condition of one Gururaj Kulkarni is stated to be serious. The accident occurred when the driver of the SUV tried to overtake another vehicle proceeding on the same direction and collided with a lorry coming from opposite side.

Driver Rachayya Hiremath, Gunman Annaraya, office staff Gururaj Kulkarni, Srikant Rathod and Sudhindra Achar were travelling in the ill-fated SUV when the accident occurred. Hiriyur police have registered a case.
