Yadgir headmaster gets national award

Bushan Gundappa Kattimani, headmaster at the Government Higher Primary School at Ashanal in Yadgir district, has won the national award for the best teacher.

Mr. Kattimani will be conferred the award by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday.

Hailing from Kamalapur village in Kalaburagi, Mr. Kattimani joined service in 1981 and was posted at the government school in Ganwar village in Jewargi taluk in Kalaburagi.

He was later transferred to Ashanal village in 1984.

He was promoted as headmaster in 2006 and was awarded the best teacher awards both at the district and the State levels.
