The Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences is organising a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme or workshop on Dyslipidemia, titled “Colloquy Tarksya”, here on Thursday.
According to Wikipedia, Dyslipidemia is an abnormal amount of lipids (that is, cholesterol and/or fat) in the blood.
In a release, Sathyanarayana B., Principal of the Institute, said that the CME programme is based on various prospects of cases concerned with Dyslipidemia conducted by the Departments of Kayachitiksa and Panchakarma.
Experts in respective fields will come out with scientific deliberations at the workshop.
The workshop would help academicians, research scholars and students of Ayurveda.
Four sessions
The workshop will have four sessions. In the morning session, Ranjan Shetty, Head of the Department of Cardiology, Kasturba Medical College, will speak on “Etiopathogenesis and treatment of Dyslipidemia”.
Kavitha, Associate Professor, Department of Swasthavrutta, SDM College of Ayurveda, Hassan, will deliver a lecture on “Ayurvedic understanding of Dyslipidemia and the role of diet in its management”.
In the post-lunch session, B.S. Prasad, Principal of BMK Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Belagavi, will speak on “Shodhana Chikitsa in Dyslipidemia”.
The workshop will conclude with a lecture on “Shamana and Rasayana Chikitsa in Dyslipidemia” by G. Srinivas Acharya, Head of the Department of Kayachikitsa and Manasa Roga, SDM College of Ayurveda, the release added.
