The Union Ministry of Culture and the Vidya Bharati Sanskriti Shiksha Sansthan will, in association with Sant Meera English Medium School, organise a series of personality development workshops on the school premises at Angol here from July 2 to August 31.

The programme will commence with a two-day “Educational Workshop on Awareness, Preservation and Development of Indian Culture and Heritage” at the host school on July 2 and 3. During the two days, 500 students from seven schools would be exposed to various native art forms, folk traditions and cultural practices. The students would be trained in some of the art forms as well.

‘Indian ethos’ workshop

Highlighting the salient features of the event, school chairman and vice-president of Vidya Bharati, Karnataka, Parameshwar V. Hegde and head mistress S.U. Daptardar, said here on Tuesday that a one-day workshop on the topic “Indian ethos” would be held on July 30 (Saturday) and another workshop on “Development of Scientific Temperament” on August 13 (Saturday).

The last workshop, on the topic “Yoga and Its Role in Healthy Human Life”, would be held on August 31 (Wednesday). Only 500 students from seven schools have been invited to participate in this event.

In all, 2,000 students — 500 each in four workshops on different topics — would get an opportunity to know and learn about India’s various cultural facets.
