Women held on theft charge

Gandhi Nagar Police (crime) led by Naseer Ahmed, Police Sub-Inspector, arrested four women rag pickers on the charge of theft. Four out of the nearly 10 cases reported in the city have been solved.

According to police, the women, identified as Peddakka (35), Hussainbi (29), Pullamma (30) and Salamma (29) – all residents of Srirampuram colony, were rag pickers. During their rounds they observed locked houses and break into them and flee with valuables.

Around 51 grams of gold, 2,150 grams of silver, house-hold articles including televisions, mixer grinder, welding machinery, water pumps have been recovered.
