A protest march was taken out from the Town Hall Circle to the Deputy Commissioner’s office by the activists of Democratic Youth Federation of India, Students Federation of India, Santhvana Kendra, Zilla Mahila Samrakshana Vedike, religious leaders and members of Christian community here on Thursday demanding that the district administration immediately arrest the accused responsible for the suicide of a 26-year-old woman here.
The agitators demanded that the police arrest the accused, Bhargav, a cameraman with a private news channel, who has been named in the complaint lodged by the mother of Sweety Marlin, who ended her life on March 27 at her house at Sadashivanagar here.
Wesley Church Father P. Vijaykumar alleged that there has been no progress in the inquiry even a week after the incident.
Sweety Marlin’s younger brother, Naveen Peter, who is a soldier, said that his family is facing financial crisis due to the loans availed of allegedly by Bhargav in his sister’s name Sweety Marlin.
