A woman who underwent birth control operation at the Government hospital in Chintamani in Chickballapur district, died of alleged negligence of doctors.

She was identified as Veena (30), a resident of Gopasandra village in Chintamani taluk.

Veena’s husband Narayanaswamy lodged a complaint with Chintamani Town police charging negligence on the part of a doctor as the cause of the death.

“Veena, who had one child, was admitted to the hospital on Friday afternoon for the birth control operation. However she died in the night after the operation was over”, the police said. However, the hospital authorities attributed low blood pressure as the reason for the death.

Chintamani town police have registered a case.
