A woman riding a two-wheeler died after she fell into a roadside drain in Sringeri on Friday. The police gave the name of the deceased as Shantha Lakshmi (43), wife of Bhaskar Rao, resident of Kanchinagar in Sringeri.
She was returning home after visiting Sringeri Mutt. She suffered serious injuries when she accidentally fell into the drain. The locals shifted her to the government hospital, where the staff declared her as brought dead. The Sringeri police have registered a complaint filed by her husband.
