March 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - RAICHUR:

A woman along with her ten-year-old daughter committed suicide by jumping into Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme Canal in Yerabera Police Station limits at about 3 p.m. on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Nagamma (35) and her daughter Eeramma, residents of Duganuru village in Raichur taluk. The police have said that they have recovered Nagamma’s body. The search for daughter’s body was on. “In a written complaint, Nagamma’s younger brother had held her husband Govinda responsible for the suicide. He has alleged that it was because of Govinda’s harassment that his sister committed suicide. We have received the complaint and will book a case under relevant laws,” Suresh H. Talawar, Circle Police Inspector (Yeragera) told The Hindu .
