The Walk of Hope, which entails covering 6,500 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir for peace and harmony by Sri M, will enter Mysuru on Thursday.
The walkathon by the 68-year-old Sri M was flagged off on January 12 at Kanyakumari and the sexagenarian has traversed 1,175 km in 67 days covering Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Walk of Hope is a padayatra for peace and harmony by Manav Ekta Mission which advocates humanity as one transcending religious, racial, geographical, cultural and ideological differences.
The Karnataka leg of the walk commenced on March 7 and Sri M was accorded a warm reception along the route at different places in Kodagu with a public reception at Madikeri which was attended by hundreds of people.
On Thursday, The Walk of Hope will enter Mysuru from Hinkal covering a distance of 10 km for the day followed by a rest day in Mysuru on Friday.
Sri M will leave for Srirangapatana on Saturday.
In the Mysore leg of the walk, Sri M will cover Metropole Circle, Dhanavantri Road, Sayyaji Rao Road, Palace temples, Devaraja Urs Road, Rotary Circle and stop at Jaganmohan Palace where there will be an inter-faith meeting at 6 p.m.
From Gandhi Memorial Mandapam in Kanyakumari to Srinagar, the walk hopes to reach out to 10 million Indians. The padayatra will cover 15-20 km a day and Sri M will halt in the evening at a predetermined village of town spending the time with local people and holding inter-faith meets, dialogues and prayers and resting at their homes.
