Karan Kumar H., a Governor nominated member of the Executive Council of the Visvesvaraya Technological University, has made a last hour request to the Superintendent of Police B.R. Ravikanthe Gowda seeking police protection to attend the varsity’s Executive Committee meeting being held at Jnana Sangama campus at Machhe on the outskirts of the city on Saturday morning.

Mr.Karan, who is at the VTU guest house since Friday afternoon, told the police official that he had received ancillary threats and was warned against attending the meeting from both teaching and non-teaching staff of VTU.

"I request you to provide necessary police protection from ‘possible attack’ or ‘blockage' to attend today’s all important meeting," he said in his letter to the police official.
