In a curious development, the BJP has complained to the CEO that JD (S) State unit president and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s announcement that he would be visiting Ajmer Dargah before releasing the list of candidates amounts to violation of the code of conduct.

However, JD(S) leader Basavaraj Horatti said that it was ridiculous to call it violation, considering BJP’s own history of seeking blessings of gods and goddesses before any event. “If the BJP leaders can seek blessings of Chamundeshwari and Nanjundeshwara, why can’t Mr. Kumaraswamy go to Ajmer Dargah?” he asked.
