Residents of Raghavendra Colony and adjacent areas, on Sunday, staged a protest demanding regular supply of drinking water. They alleged that borewells of their localities were connected to other areas, causing a shortage in drinking water for them.

The protesters said that all these years, residents had no shortage of drinking water as three borewells in the locality were in good condition. However, recently, the Hassan City Municipal Council diverted water to other localities. The protesters removed the pipeline connecting other localities. Following this, residents of Raghavendra Colony and Beerenahalli Kere localities were receiving drinking water only once in a week.

The protesters said that the politicians who visited their localities repeatedly during elections had not responded when they were facing the water crisis.
