Vidya Siri for Karnataka's Brahmins, Vysya students

Minister for Social Welfare H. Anjaneya on Thursday informed Ravi Subramanya (BJP) in the Legislative Assembly that Brahmin and Vysya students will also be brought under the Vidya Siri scheme and they will get Rs. 1,500, a month towards hostel facilities.

Registration of sites

Minister for Revenue V. Srinivas Prasad informed Vishwanath (BJP) that he would immediately stop registration of sale of sites formed within the jurisdiction of the Bangalore Development Authority, the BMRDA, the Nelamangala and Anekal Development Authorities and Bangalore International Airport Planning Authority, if they were unauthorised layouts Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs T.B. Jayachandra informed Deputy Leader of the BJP R. Ashok that he would consider bringing a legislation to regulate the installation of mobile towers. Mr. Ashok said such towers were mushrooming in the State, violating the directive issued by the Union government in 2005. He said the towers installed near residential areas and on top of terraces were harmful to the people and should not be allowed any more.
