US Ambassador visits Mysuru Palace, Infosys campus

A day after inaugurating the renovated building of Oriental Research Institute (ORI) in Mysuru on Tuesday, US Ambassador to India Richard Verma went on a whirlwind tour of the City on Wednesday visiting Mysuru Palace and Infosys campus among other places.

Mr. Verma, who stayed at the Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel, started the day with a visit to JSS Polytechnic for the differently abled at Manasagangothri before visiting the famed Mysuru Palace. Mr. Verma also met Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, the wife of late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar. Mr Verma’s meeting with Ms. Wadiyar was described as a courtesy call.

Later, Mr. Verma visited the Vivekananda Institute for Leadership Development (VILD) in Hebbal, where he interacted with the students.

The US Ambassador later went to Infosys campus in Mysuru, where he met its co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy and senior management.

On Tuesday evening, Mr. Verma also met members of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and interacted with them.

Mr. Verma is scheduled to wind up his visit to Mysuru on Wednesday evening before leaving for Bengaluru enroute to Delhi.
