Upgraded govt. hospital in Hosanagar inaugurated

The upgraded Government General Hospital in Hosanagar town was inaugurated by Health and Family Welfare Minister K.R. Ramesh Kumar on Tuesday.

The bed capacity been enhanced from 50 to 100. An amount of ₹7 crore was spent to construct new wards and to provide amenities for additional patients. The hospital has separate operation theatres for men and women, intensive care unit, dialysis unit, tele-medicine unit, and advanced scanning equipment.

Mr. Kumar said dialysis service will be offered at government hospitals in all the taluks by February-end. The government is committed to open generic medicine counters at all taluk headquarters to ensure availability of life-saving medicine at affordable price for the patients, he said.

Kalagodu Rathnakar, member of zilla panchayat, requested the State government to establish a community health centre in Ripponpet. Halagadde Umesh, president of Hosanagar Town Panchayat, requested establishment of a trauma care centre at the upgraded hospital.
