In what is described as the “biggest-ever” seizure of “unaccounted for cash” in Mysore Lok Sabha constituency, the authorities on Thursday seized Rs. 48,79,500 from a Kushalnagar-bound KSRTC bus near Manuganahalli check-post, about 20 km from Mysore city, in Hunsur taluk. The Bilikere police arrested Basavaraj, who was carrying the cash without valid documents. Arul Kumar, Nodal Officer, Model Code of Conduct, Mysore, told The Hindu that unaccounted for cash had been seized and further investigations were under way. “It is learnt that the man was carrying the cash to Kodagu,” he said. Mr. Kumar claimed: “This is the biggest-ever seizure of unaccounted for cash in the constituency after the announcement of general elections.”
