Two test positive for dengue in Sorab

Out of f 87 persons being treated for fever and headache in Udri-Vaddigeri gram panchayat limits in Sorab taluk, the blood samples of two patients have tested positive for dengue.

There was an outbreak of fever in the area last week and the patients are being treated by the medical personnel at the Primary Health Centre(PHC) in Udri village. Following this, the personnel of Department of Health and Family Welfare conducted a door-to-door survey in the gram panchayat. During the survey, the larvae of aedes aegypti mosquito that transmits the virus that causes dengue fever was found in the water containers of a few houses.

Initially, the blood samples of five patients was sent to laboratory for diagnosis in which two tested positive of dengue. Following this, the blood samples of 10 more patients have been drawn for test on Saturday and the result is awaited.
