Two students of MIFSC College, near Bhagwan Mahaveer (Pumpwell) junction, were assaulted by a group of students on Thursday morning. The attackers are from the same college and were angry that the victims had taken photographs of their female friends without their permission.

According to police, the group had heated argument with the victim Kalandar and one of his classmates alleging that they had taken photographs of some girls during a college function a few days ago. Kalandar has been admitted to a private hospital near the Junction. The police are yet to get details of the other injured person.

The police have registered a case under Section 307 of the India Penal Code. They are searching for persons involved in the attack. Police Commissioner R. Hithendra said the victims have not named any specific group for the attack.
