The driver and cleaner of a timber-laden lorry were injured after their vehicle fell into a canal near Mandya Koppalu, near Srirangapatna, in the district on Sunday.

The injured are out of danger and have been shifted to a hospital, Arakere police said. The vehicle, registered in Maharashtra, was transporting timber from Bannur near Mysuru to Kalaburgi.

The accident occurred when the driver lost the control of the vehicle when it reached the canal-bridge.

The police said they would register a case of negligence against the driver.
