Two farmers commit suicide

Two more farmers committed suicide reportedly in despair over financial burden in Haveri district.

The farmers committed suicides by hanging themselves. They have been identified as Manjunath Bhimakkanavar (38) of Kerimattihalli in Haveri taluk and Dilleppa Kenchaller (56) of Medleri village in Ranebennur taluk of the district.

Manjunath Bhimakkanavar reportedly had a loan of Rs. 1.5 lakhs and was upset over crop failure. He died by hanging himself by a tree in his field. Manjunath was farming in the 1.5 acres of land owned by his father.

Delleppa of Medleri who owned 2.30 acres had a hand loan of Rs. 4 lakhs and was reportedly upset over the crop failure, sources said.
