Two persons, including a 10-year-old girl, died in an LPG explosion at a building at Angol here on Thursday.
Such was the intensity of the explosion that it brought down the two-storeyed building. Five others, who were trapped under the debris and suffered injuries, were rescued by firemen and shifted to the district government hospital.
The dead have been identified as Trupti Gururaj Kulkarni (10) and Padmavati Narsingh Kulkarni (70).
Trupti’s parents, Gururaj and Rajeshree Kulkarni, were among the five who were trapped in the debris, and the others were Prema Shinde, Mahadev Shinde and Gangadhar Charantimath.
Residents
The building is owned by Krishna Kharde, who had rented out all three floors.
While the Kulkarni family occupied the ground floor of the building, the first floor was occupied by the Shinde family, and the second by Charantimath.
The Tilakwadi police have registered a case.
