Two persons died on the spot after a lorry hit a two-wheeler near Mallenahalli Gate, near Baguru, in Channarayapatna taluk, on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Guru (30), of Channarayapatna town, and Dharmaraj (29), of Salasapura in Channarayapatna taluk. Both were cable operators.
Guru had recently completed construction work on his house. He and his friend Dharmaraj were on the way to Sathenahalli to invite his relatives for the house warming ceremony when they met with the accident.
Guru has left behind his wife and seven-year old son. Dharmaraj is survived by his wife and two children.
The driver of the lorry is absconding.
