A two-day job fair organised by the district administration in association with the Department of Industries and Commerce and Karnataka State Vocational Training and Skill Development Board began on the premises of C. ByreGowda Institute of Technology (CBIT) on the outskirts of the town on Saturday.
Inaugurating the programme, Industries Minister R.V. Deshapande said it has been organised for the convenience of youths of the district. Though more youths are getting educated they are not getting equal job opportunities, he said and underlined the need for industries to accord priority to qualified youth in their recruitments.
Health and Family Welfare and district in-charge Minister K.R. Rameshkumar, and MP K.H. Muniyappa spoke.
