Two Dalits assaulted at hotel

Two Dalits were allegedly assaulted by workers of Bajrang Dal at Alduru in Chikkamagaluru taluk on Sunday. The accused are Tudkur Manju, district convener of Bajrang Dal, and his associates Chetan and Prateek.

According to the complaint filed by Dinesh, he and his friend Girish were assaulted while they were having food at a hotel. “The accused scolded us citing our caste and then hit us hard”, said Dinesh in the complaint. They are being treated in a hospital in Chikkamagaluru. Alduru police have booked a case on charges of causing hurt voluntarily (323 of IPC) and criminal intimidation (506 of IPC), besides the SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. So far, no arrests have been made in this connection.
