Two children die of suspected diphtheria

Two children havedied of suspected diphtheria at Vatrakunte village in Bangarpet taluk. Sakir (11) and Zakru (6) were the victims.

While Salir died a week ago, Zakru died on Wednesday. Both were said to be ailing from diphtheria.

As the news created panic among residents, a team of doctors led by Taluk Health Officer Kamalakar and District Surveillance officer Vijayakumari rushed to the village and checked the health of the children in the area.
