Two car passengers die in mishap near Murgod

Two persons from Telangana’s Medak district were killed on the spot and two others escaped with minor injuries in an accident involving a car near Chachadi Cross on Belagavi-Bagalkot-Hyderabad interstate highway under Murgod Police Station limits of Saundatti taluk in the early hours of Monday.

The deceased have been identified as B. Ravindra Reddy (40) of Krishnapur village in Jharasangam taluk, who was driving the car, and M. Rajkumar (42) of Patancheru under Sangareddy subdivision. Srinivas Reddy and Saligram Krishna escaped with minor injuries.

Police said that accident occurred when their vehicle hit a road-side milestone at about 3-30 a.m. The passengers were returning from Goa when the accident occurred. The bodies of the deceased had been shifted to a mortuary in Saundatti.

A case has been registered and the relatives of the victims have been informed.
