Two persons, including a head constable of the Anantapur Battalion, have been arrested by a special police team in connection with a murder that had occurred recently on the outskirts of Ballari city.
Giving details, R. Chetan, Superintendent of Police, said that calls made to the mobile phone of the deceased had led to the arrest of the two persons, Srinivas Reddy, Head Constable, and Talari Jayaram of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh.
According to him, Srinivas Reddy and the deceased Venkataram Reddy were relatives and a dispute between them ended up in the murder of the latter.
Another murder
Srinivas Reddy also planned to eliminate Shekar who had provided them a SIM card in his name, which was used to call Venkataram Reddy. Accordingly, he entrusted the task to Talari Jayaram, who, along with another person, summoned Shekar, provided him drinks and food and allegedly killed him and burnt the body at a government school in Puttlur village. This too was said to have been admitted to by the two accused.
The arrested are remanded in judicial custody.
