Two arrested on charge of bribery

Sleuths from the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Hassan, on Monday, arrested a Panchayat Development Officer and a computer operator attached to Hosur Gram Panchayat in Sakleshpur on the charge of accepting a bribe of ₹5,000 for issuing a khata.

The ACB police, acting on a complaint filed by a resident of Chinnahalli, caught the two in the act. C.P. Manu, the PDO, had demanded a bribe for a khata transfer through the computer operator H.L. Soumya.

The police have registered the case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1998.
