Two arrested for cricket betting in Mysuru

The Central Crime Branch raided a room at Dattagalli A Block in Kuvempunagar police station limits on Monday and busted an IPL cricket betting racket.

The police arrested Vijaya R.D. (39), a resident of K.C. Layout, and seized a laptop, printer, television, set-top box and cash. On Tuesday, the CCB managed to arrest Vijay’s associate Harish (28), a resident of Ittigegud in Mysuru.

Chain-snatchers arrested

The city police arrested two chain-snatchers and recovered two gold chains worth Rs 90,000 and a motorcycle. According to the police, the Devaraja police arrested Ajmal Pasha (26), a resident of Kalyanagiri, and Rudraswamy (32), a resident of Kirugunda village in Nanjangud taluk.

The city police on Monday arrested three persons for allegedly trying to sell fake tiger skin. The police said the accused, Nagaraj and Mohan, residents of Bengaluru, and Subhash of Kerala, were intercepted by a mobile squad of forest officials near Jaganmohan palace following a tip off.

A police official said that the accused had painted tiger stripes on the skin of an animal with the intention to cheat buyers.
