The four separate teams of police officers formed to inquire into alleged smearing of black oil on writer Yogish Master on Sunday evening, have arrested two persons in connection with the incident on Monday morning. The accused have been identified as Chetan and Shivaprasad, both residents of Davangere town.
According to police sources, the motive behind the attack was to humiliate the writer for his writings against the hindu gods and demoralise him. The teams have continued their search for the remaining accused. The accused are said to be the members of Hindu Jagaran Vedike.
