Two arrested, 14,000 litres of liquor seized

An Excise Department team arrested two persons on the charge of illegal possession of liquor at Shirror village here on Wednesday evening. They are said to have been ferrying 14,000 litres of liquor manufactured in Goa.

According to a press release issued by the department on Thursday, the men — Anil Kumar (22) and Motla Naik (33), both residents of Hoovinahadagali in Ballari district — were nabbed arrested near the check post at Shiroor.

The excise officials have also seized a mobile phone from the men.
