Training for leadership – the Indian Air Force way

January 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:05 am IST - MYSURU:

‘Training for Leadership – the Air Force Way’ ingrains in personnel an attitude of service before self, said Air Marshal Ramesh Rai, Air Officer Commanding-in Chief, Training Command Headquarters, Indian Air Force (IAF), Bengaluru, while delivering a talk at MYRA School Of Business in the city recently.

He said leadership training in the IAF ingrains in men in uniform the Chetwode motto that the safety, honour and welfare of the nation always comes first; the safety, honor and welfare of the men they command always follows next; while personal ease, comfort and safety always comes last, said Air Marshal Rai.

The talk was delivered as part of the School’s IndusTree CXO Power Talks during which Air Marshal Rai pointed out that training in the forces was a continuous process.

The students of MYRA School of Business were apprised of the OODA model (Observe, Orient, Decide and Act) for decision making in air combat on how one could out-manoeuvre the enemy by assessing a situation with the right knowledge, technology and skills.
