More than 100 cyclists from Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu are expected to participate in the sixth edition of the Tour of Nilgiris cycling expedition, a press release said here on Friday.
The expedition will commence from Bangalore on December 16 and participants will pass through Mysore, Ooty, Sultan Bathery, Madikeri and return to Mysore on December 23.
Dubbed as the ‘mother of all cycling tours in India’, the expedition will see participants traversing different terrains and give them the opportunity to ride through three wildlife sanctuaries and savour the beauty of the mountains in the Nilgiris and the Western Ghats.
The competitive distance will not be longer than 40 km on any day. This year’s expedition hopes to encourage youth to embrace cycling as a sport, the release said. For details, log on to www.tourofnilgiris.com.
