A torchlight campaign against the Centre’s proposal to form the National Medical Council reached Kolar on Monday.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has launched the State-level campaign to garner support against the proposed council, IMA district unit president M. Narayanaswamy said.
The National Medical Council will pave way for the commercialisation of medical education, he said. “Medical education will become more expensive and corruption will creep into the medical education system,” Dr. Narayanaswamy felt.
IMA secretary M.C. Nagaraj was present.
