A meeting to review the law and order situation and crime scenario in five districts falling under Southern Range of the Police Department was held in Mysore on Monday.
Though the meeting was held after the assault on IAS officer Rashmi V. on the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) premises in Mysore last Wednesday, Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order) H.C. Kishore Chandra described it a routine meeting to review the situation in the Southern Range covering Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Kodagu and Hassan districts.
When presspersons asked him about the complaints of alleged police failure leading to the assault on Ms. Rashmi, Mr. Chandra said the questions should be posed to Mysore City Police Commissioner M.A. Saleem. He said the date of the meeting had been fixed long ago.
ADGP (Crime) N.S. Megharik; Inspector-General of Police (Southern Range) B.K. Singh; Mr. Saleem; KPA Director A.S.N. Murthy and other senior officials attended the meeting.
