Top cops meet in Mysore

Senior police officials held a meeting to review the law and order situation in Southern Range, including Mysore, on Monday.

The meeting was attended among others, by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Law and Order) H C Kishore Chandra is being held in the backdrop of the assault on woman IAS officer Rashmi V in the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) premises in Mysore on Wednesday.

However, Mr Kishore Chandra described the meeting as a “routine” one to review the law and order situation and crime scenario in Southern range, which covers Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Kodagu and Hassan districts.

Even as he ducked queries on the alleged police failure leading to the assault on Ms Rashmi, Mr Kishore Chandra said the date for the meeting to review the law and order situation and crime scenario in Mysore range had been fixed long ago.

He asked reporters to address their queries on investigation into the assault on Ms Rashmi to Mysore City Police Commissioner. In response to persistent questions by the reporters, Mr Kishore Chandra said the assault on the IAS officer will also be discussed during the review meeting along with various other issues pertaining to law and order situation as well as crime scenario in Mysore range.

The meeting was also attended by ADGP (Crime) N S Megharik, Inspector General of Police (Southern range) B K Singh and City Police Commissioner M A Saleem.
