A tigress, estimated to be aged around 6 to 8, was found dead in Moolapura betta of Bandipur Tiger Reserve. The putrefied body bearing several injuries was found on Monday. Wildlife experts opine that it could have died at least 48 hours prior to the discovery of its body. “There were a lot of wounds, which could have been due to a fight. It is breeding season for tigers and this is common during the period,” said wildlife conservationist Rajkumar D. Urs.
