Tiger captured

The Forest Department, on Monday, successfully darted and captured the tiger that killed a woman on Saturday. The trained staff of the department fired a tranquiliser dart following which the animal fell unconscious.

The staff caught the animal and kept it in a cage near Pandaravalli in Chikkamagaluru taluk. Veterinarians have been monitoring the tiger’s health after it was caught. The forest officers are yet to decide on the place, where the tiger could be freed. Sumithra (36) was killed in the tiger attack on Saturday morning, while she was on the way to a plantation for her work.
