Three-storey building collapses in Kolar

November 09, 2017 04:17 pm | Updated 04:19 pm IST - Kolar

A three-storey building collapsed in Kolar town on Thursday morning. However, no casualty was reported.

The building, located near KSRTC Bus Stand Circle, housed an ice cream parlour and a tutorial. The family of a worker of the parlour was also living in the building. It caved in at around 7 a.m., creating panic.

The structure leaned on the adjacent building. The recent heavy rain might have caused collapse of the old building, it was felt. Students who came to attend the tuition classes and the worker’s family were rescued.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel and City Municipal Council Commissioner S.A. Ramprakash visited the spot.
