Three of a family killed in accident in Kalaburagi

A speeding private bus crushed to death three members of a family, including a five-year-old boy, who were on their way to Tinthani village in Surpur taluk of Yadgir district on Friday morning.

Baburao (45), along with his wife Anita (40), and their grandson Shubham (5), were on a two-wheeler when the accident occured.

The police said the family had started from Basavakalyan in Bidar district early on Friday morning. They reached Shahabad Cross near Farhatabad village on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city, when a private bus coming from the opposite direction rammed their vehicle, killing all three on the spot.

According to the police, the bus belonged to a Bengaluru-based private travel company. The bus driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. A case has been registered at Farhatabad police station.
