Three persons were killed on-the-spot and three others sustained injuries, in a head-on collision between a four-wheeler, in which they were travelling, and a lorry.
The incident occurred on NH-13 near Chilakanahatti village in Hosapete taluk on Monday.
According to police officials, the deceased, identified as Puttanna (30), Shivu (25) and Hanumanth (26) and the injured – Pavan, Chandru and Ibrahim, were heading towards Ron in Gadag district from Bengaluru in a Tavera.
All the injured have been admitted the hospital. The driver of the lorry is absconding.
Mariyammanahalli Police have registered a case.
