Three killed as car hits motorbike

Three persons, including a woman, riding on a motorbike, were killed on the spot when they were hit by a speeding car near Chikkalgudda Cross of Hukkeri taluk on Pune-Bengaluru National Highway No.4, under Yamkanmardi Police Station limits, on Friday morning.

The three were on their way to Karoshi village of Chikkodi taluk after attending the last rites of their relative in Belagavi. Police said the driver of the car was driving negligently and rashly, and hit the two-wheeler from behind.

The deceased have been identified as Mujaheed Desai (34), Abdul Razzak Patel (33) and Kaleemun Patel (55). All the three were residents of Karoshi.

Police said the car driver, Balachandra Hanuman Inamdar (28) of Arjunwad in Hukkeri taluk, had been arrested.
